Netwealth is a London-based modern wealth management company that provides a tailored and cost-effective discretionary portfolio management service. Founded in early 2016, Netwealth combines a highly experienced investment team with powerful financial technology.
Clients can choose their investment portfolios online based on their financial goals, supported by a set of powerful financial tools, or speak with qualified financial advisers to consider their circumstances and objectives. All portfolios are managed on a consistent, centralised basis by the investment team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Portfolio Construction and Implementation Internship Program. This role will suit individuals who are intellectually curious and eager to gain hands-on experience in a modern, technology‑enabled investment firm.
The program is designed to offer the unique opportunity to gain exposure within the portfolio management team and across the broader business, whilst receiving extensive on the job training that would be beneficial for a future career within wealth and investment management.
The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering a project that brings tangible benefit to the business, which they will be expected to present to the Netwealth Investment Committee in the final week of the program.
Throughout the internship, you will also be supported to build technical knowledge and a deeper understanding of how portfolios are constructed and managed.
Alongside the delivery of the internship project, the candidate will:
• Assist portfolio managers with the day-to-day management of investment portfolios, understanding the key drivers of financial markets.
• Support the team in selecting appropriate financial instruments for portfolio inclusion and ensure all instrument related data is up-to-date.
• Monitor portfolio drift and assist in rebalancing portfolios to maintain target allocations.
• Ensure portfolios remain aligned with investment objectives and within risk parameters.
• Support the execution of portfolio trades in a timely and efficient manner.
• Attend investment team meetings to gain insight into the key drivers of returns
• Ensure that all clients are treated fairly.

• Gain an understanding of Netwealth’s investment philosophy, risk framework and asset allocation process.
• Develop technical skills working directly with the team’s portfolio tools.
This internship is ideal for candidates who:
• Are in their penultimate year, final year, or have recently completed a university degree
• Are studying for a university degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
• Have a strong academic background
• Are intellectually curious and eager to learn about markets and investing
• Are motivated to gain hands-on experience in a professional investment environment
Essential
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• High levels of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• A strong sense of ethics, sound judgement, and a business-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated curiosity about markets and investing
• A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
• Demonstrated interest in AI models, tools and agents, and their application in investment and business contexts
Helpful (but not absolute requirements):
• Knowledge of financial markets, instruments, trading, and portfolio management practices
